Training dedicated to Communities of Practice

Ardans, expert in knowledge management, offers you a series of modules on "Communities of Practice", based on its CoPBoK methodological reference framework, the result of over 25 years' experience, and the CoPManager workshop, designed and developed to support all knowledge managers in animating and managing the community of facilitators of communities of practice (the CoP of CoPs).

This 5-module training course covers everything from a simple introduction to what CoPs are and what they can bring to organizations, to how to assume your role as a facilitator or active member of these very special networks, or even a workshop to manage and facilitate your own CoP.

Objectives of the course

The main objectives of this 5-module training course are as follows:

Understand what professional communities are, and in particular CoPs (Communities of Practice);
Understand the relationship between communities and knowledge management;
Appreciating the different roles within a CoP;
Learn how to be a "good facilitator";
Know the different stages of maturity of a CoP and the possible production activities according to its stage of maturity; Define the scope and objectives of your CoP;
Prepare and launch your CoP Community of Practice, and then run it; Create your own CoP charter;
Analyze/evaluate the output of your CoP Community of Practice and the satisfaction of its members;
Learn how to use the CoP Manager, in particular by providing pre-formatted templates that can be adjusted and are useful for capitalizing and sharing between members.

CoP training is aimed at a wide audience: facilitators, pilots, community managers, but also any active member of a professional community (business, learning, practice), knowledge managers, or anyone involved in CoP development.

CoP training takes place in person, mainly on an in-company basis, and by ODL on request.

5-module training

The 5 modules - each lasting 4 hours - are entitled :

Module a: Introduction to communities
Module b: Managing and leading a CoP with the Core Group
Module c: Understanding the operational activities of a CoP
Module d: Understanding and mastering the life of a CoP
Module m: Exploiting the CoP Manager, the CoP facilitator's environment
