Knowledge mapping consists of making a detailed inventory of the company's knowledge in a business area or through a process approach, classifying it according to a knowledge model and then linking it together according to the logic announced by the people interviewed. This knowledge can then be judged according to its usefulness, key or crucial, or even critical, to ensure the company's productivity and performance and thus mark its difference from the competition. A map can thus be produced for a given expert as well as for an entire department or service.
